  2. Maze Runner is the first in a 4 part series (with a prequel published earlier this year). This book focuses on a group of boys who are part of an experiment where they are placed in a small society surrounded by a maze, they must survive with limited supplies being provided to them and with the only hope of ever leaving is to solve the Maze.

While I enjoyed the book as it had action, suspense and a dash of romance, it did not keep my attention consistently through the book and got slow at times. Many students who liked Hunger Games have enjoyed this book.

  3. I haven't finished Maze Runner yet but I like what I've read so far. It's also a dystopian story and while the characters are interesting, I have not warmed up to them as readily as I did with, say, Katniss in HG or Lu's character's (Day and June) in Legend. Like Ms. Gerdes, the story does not keep my attention consistently but I'm not giving up since so many people I admire are fans of the book. And, since there are sequels and now a prequel - it could mean hours of reading for pleasure in my future: bliss! If I finish before we vote, I'll post another installment!

  4. A great book if you look for adventure and mystery. It starts out slow but it is worth it at the end with twists and turns at every corner. :)

  5. Don't read the prequel to "Maze Runner" which is called "Kill Order"! Blech!
